FAQ

General

sport.io is a startup focusing on quantifying who we are as athletes, with the goal of connecting us more deeply with ourselves and each other. Our initial release is a platform for events; the driver of our training and the stage upon which we measure our abilities.
Currently, sport.io is developed by Jason Eisenmenger, who founded and incorporated sport.io, Inc in fall of 2017. Guidance for sport.io is provided by key members of racing governing bodies from around the globe, with the first beta event ranking as a UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) category 2 cycocross race and integrating heavily with AJOCC (Association of Japan Cyclocross Organizers) and JCF (Japan Cycling Federation) in Japan.
sport.io is currently in beta, meaning we are focused on working with a select number of events that fit a key focus of development as we try to build the perfect platform. When we're ready, anybody will be able to use sport.io for any sporting event. Until then, if you have an event and are interested in working with us, or would like more information or updates, please contact us using the form on the home page.

Registration

We make no email requirements other than you must be able to recieve our email confirmation when creating your account. In some countries, internet service and mobile providers may provide email addresses that are restricted to certain types of messages within their network or platform. If you don't receive the "email confirmation" email when registering, and the message (hopefully!) didn't end up in your spam folder, this might be the case for you. Simply try a different email address from a less restrictive provider.

Your password must:
  • Be at least 8 characters in length
  • Contain at least 1 lowercase and 1 uppercase letter
  • Contain at least 1 special character ([email protected]#$%^&*)
  • Contain at least 1 number (0–9)
Each organizer limits the ability to change different fields after registering. To make changes to the information provided on your registration you may do so by logging in and editing the registration in the account area.

Payment

For events listed in USD, we accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Discover, and Diners Club.

For events listed in JPY, we accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.

If your card brand is not accepted by the event you'd like to register for, we recommend purchasing a prepaid Visa or MasterCard to complete your registration.

sport.io will never charge registration fees to athletes. Ever.

That being said, your credit card company may charge international transaction fees or currency conversion fees for events purchased in different countries or currencies than the card was issued. Please contact your credit card company for questions or concerns about daily exchange rates and/or any fees they may charge you for international transactions.
